As a graduate student in Operating Department Practice (ODP) nursing, I gained a lot of experience in taking care of patients during all stages of surgery. This helped me develop skills that are useful in both nursing and caring for older adults. My job included helping with surgeries, getting patients ready before surgery, and closely watching them as they recovered. These tasks improved my ability to give complete and caring support, focusing on patient safety, comfort, and overall health. When it comes to nursing and caring for older adults, my experience with monitoring patients, preventing infections, and managing risks is very important. Older patients often need special care because of their complex health issues. I learned how to work with people who are more vulnerable, paying special attention to their needs and making sure they are well taken care of. This is especially important in geriatric care, where being careful and respecting the patient's dignity are very important. Also, my work with patients after surgery helped me understand the importance of careful and respectful care, which is crucial in geriatric nursing.
