My motivation to serve in the field of caregiving comes from a deeply personal journey that shaped not only my outlook on care but also the way I understand human dignity.
Several years ago, a close family member was diagnosed with early-stage schizophrenia. When I realized she was receiving inadequate care and her condition was worsening, I moved back home and became her full-time caregiver. For over three years, I cared for her from dawn till dusk, changing her diapers, bathing her, administering her medication, feeding her, and taking her to hospital appointments. I gave her the consistent love and presence she needed to heal. Today, she is fully recovered. She walks on her own, speaks clearly, plays with children, and even sings joyfully in the church choir. She has become a lively reminder of how transformative good care can be.
Though I do not have formal training in nursing or geriatric care, this experience gave me practical skills, emotional resilience, and a deeper commitment to the well-being of others. I have also spent over a decade in leadership roles, building meaningful relationships, and volunteering in my local church community.
I am drawn to this opportunity in Germany because I believe in the value of cultural exchange, community service, and holistic care. I want to contribute meaningfully while learning from a different healthcare system and society. This program aligns with my lifelong desire to serve others with compassion, patience, and integrity
