At Kenya’s largest referral hospital, I work in the geriatric care unit where I provid specialized nursing care to elderly patients. My responsibilities included:
Monitoring and managing chronic illnesses such as diabetes, hypertension, and dementia.
Assisting patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including feeding, mobility, hygiene, and dressing.
Administering prescribed medications and documenting patient progress accurately.
Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to develop personalized care plans.
Offering emotional support to patients and their families, ensuring a holistic approach to care.
Promoting patient safety, dignity, and comfort in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
