I have experience caring for my late grandparents.
During their final years, I helped care for them at home assisting with daily tasks, offering companionship, and ensuring they felt safe and valued. This experience taught me patience, emotional strength, and the importance of kindness in caregiving. It also made me realize how rewarding it is to make a positive difference in someone’s day, even in small ways.
I am applying for voluntary service in geriatric care because I believe that the elderly deserve compassion, dignity, and respectful care. Throughout my life, I’ve always had a deep respect for older generations, and I see this opportunity as a meaningful way to give back and learn from them.
Although I do not have formal training in nursing, I am a quick learner, empathetic, and patient qualities that I believe are essential in supporting elderly individuals. I am particularly drawn to this role because it combines human connection, service, and personal growth. I want to better understand the needs of the elderly and be part of a team that improves their quality of life.
In addition, I have studied German for four years and would love to use my language skills in a practical setting, while also learning more about the culture. Volunteering in this area will not only help others but also allow me to grow personally and professionally.
