I have gained practical experience in geriatric care through the long-term support of a close family member who required daily assistance due to age-related health challenges. Over the course of two years, I was responsible for tasks such as bathing, dressing, feeding, administering medication, and ensuring emotional comfort. I also learned to monitor vital signs and assist with mobility, while offering companionship and encouragement each day.
This experience taught me the true meaning of patience, empathy, and attentiveness. It helped me understand not only the physical needs of elderly individuals, but also the importance of preserving their dignity, independence, and emotional well-being.
Though my experience comes from a personal setting, it has inspired me to pursue professional opportunities in geriatric care. I am now eager to bring this compassion and dedication into a formal healthcare environment in Germany, where I can continue to learn and grow while making a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
