I am deeply passionate about meaningful service, cross-cultural exchange, and creating inclusive spaces where all individuals-especially youth and marginalized groups-can thrive. I am writing to express my heartfelt interest in joining your organization through the Bundesfreiwilligendienst (BFD) program, and to contribute my energy, skills, and warmth to the communities you serve.
With a background in international relations, community development and skills training, I currently work with the Kenya Association of Manufacturers (KAM), where I coordinate programs that bridge industry with vocational training institutions. My role focuses on promoting youth employment pathways, supporting work-based learning, and aligning training with real-world skills needs. Previously, I collaborated with the International Labour Organization (ILO) and Light for the World to implement inclusive vocational training for persons with disabilities, an experience that profoundly shaped my commitment to social justice and inclusion.
Beyond my professional work, I am a warm, curious, and open-minded individual who thrives in diverse environments. I believe that volunteering is not only an act of service but also a mutual exchange, an opportunity to learn, grow, and connect across cultures. The BFD program resonates with me because it combines service with learning, aligning perfectly with both my personal and professional journey.
I am especially eager to immerse myself in German culture, improve my language skills, and contribute meaningfully, whether through youth programs, disability inclusion, elderly care, environmental work, or community development. Having grown up in a vibrant but at times challenging context, I have cultivated resilience, empathy, and a strong sense of purpose, qualities I carry into every space I enter.
It would be an honor to serve within your organization, to learn from your team, and to share a piece of Kenyan culture in return. Thank you sincerely for considering my application. I am open to placements across Germany and would be delighted to discuss any opportunities that match my profile.
