As a Christian of the Apostolic Church Kumba Cameroon, I have always been a part of the volunteering team in church to reach out to the community be it caring for the old, less privileges, orphans, and the disabled people. Sadly, giving the ongoing Anglophone crisis also known as the southern Cameroon crisis, Myself being an Internal Displaced Person (IDP) too, was fortunate to be one of the volunteer members who go out to the villages that has been destroyed to extend our volunteer services to the internal displaced People in the Southern Cameroon. me experiences are as follows:
-Coordinated the recruitment and training of volunteers for community health support initiatives.
-Organized and led weekly meetings for other volunteers, fostering team cohesion and addressing challenges proactively.
-Collaborated with local health and social service organizations to identify community needs and tailor volunteer activities effectively.
Managed communication between volunteers and beneficiaries, ensuring responsive and respectful service delivery throughout the program.
In abroad, Nicosia Cyprus, I work as caregiver at Aurora Health clinic for 2year (2021-2023) not as a registered nurse. the experienced was very challenging I must say, but it was a great experience as it thought me the following.
-Demonstrated exceptional organizational skills and discipline in caregiving
duties, effectively integrating knowledge of human biology and health science essential for the role.
-Skillfully managed the care of patients/clients from diverse backgrounds
with confidentiality and respect.
-Embraced opportunities for continuous learning to enhance caregiving
abilities.
-Delivered personalized care and support to elderly and disabled clients,
ensuring their comfort and safety at all times.
-Monitored patients' health conditions meticulously and reported any significant changes to medical professionals without delay.
