Application text:

I am currently a 17-year-old Senior at Columbia High School in Nampa Idaho. By August 1st, I will be graduated and sitting on enough savings to handle a move to Germany. I plan on spending my gap year there to solidify my language and savings before going to a German college and getting on a student visa in 2027. I am interested in the discipline of psychology, and this interest has led me into a secondary interest in Germany because of the relevant historical thinkers (e.g. Nietzsche). I am currently involved in a German language course with the Goethe Institut to make my dreams of studying abroad come true. I see this program I am applying to as another opportunity to see my dreams actualize. This gives me a clear route into Germany during that gap year, and ample relevant experience. I also believe I will contribute much to the team I'm involved in with you guys. I am working currently at a painting and restoration company, and that demands a great capacity to work in a team--maintaining positive and productive relationships. Furthermore, my GPA isn't yet finalized, but I know it will be near a 4.0. I am also a member of the highly selective Gifted and Talented program at my school, the Nampa High School Scholars, and the STEM department in my school. These markers should make apparent my ambition and competence. I hope you can give me this opportunity, as this is the next step for me in my pursuing my passion and dream. Thank you for taking the time to read my application.
