Application for nursing and geriatric care in Germany

With over 10 years of experience as a Registered Nurse and a passion for service-driven healthcare, I am applying to volunteer with your organization in Germany. My goal is to contribute my clinical skills, compassion, and cross-cultural experience to support patients and communities while continuing to learn from the German healthcare system.

My nursing career has given me broad experience in patient care, emergency response, community health, and mentoring junior staff. Beyond hospital work, I had the privilege of serving as a volunteer with Mercy Ships in Sierra Leone. Working aboard the hospital ship taught me to deliver high-quality care with limited resources, adapt to multicultural teams, and treat patients with dignity regardless of background. In Sierra Leone, I provided pre- and post-operative care, health education, and support in a humanitarian setting. That experience deepened my commitment to volunteerism and global health equity.

I am drawn to volunteer in Germany because of Germany’s reputation for excellence in healthcare, teamwork, and structured patient-centered care. I admire how German healthcare combines technology, training, and compassion. As a volunteer, I hope to support nursing teams, share my experience in low-resource and high-volume settings, and learn best practices in areas such as geriatric care, rehabilitation, and chronic disease management that I can bring back to my community.

I bring reliability, cultural sensitivity, and a strong work ethic. Having worked with international teams on Mercy Ships, I am comfortable collaborating with colleagues from different backgrounds and communicating in English. I am also committed to learning basic German to better connect with patients.

Volunteering is not just about giving — it is also about growing. I want to use my 10 years of experience to make a meaningful impact, while gaining new perspectives that will make me a better nurse. I would be honored to serve your patients and team in Germany.
